While the manna that descended from heaven was certainly miraculous, recognize how many miracles occur all around us on any given day.
The manna that the Jewish nation received each day in the wilderness was not only heaven-sent, but represented the daily sustenance that God provided to our ancestors. We can gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of the manna through the analysis of the Malbim, a classical biblical commentator, who provides seven important lessons to be learned from the manna.
To learn these lessons and internalize them, read this enlightening thought entitled “The Malbim Teaches the Lessons of the Manna” from Rabbi Ephraim Z. Buchwald’s Torah message on this week’s Torah portion, B’shalach 5783-2023. Out of respect for Shabbat, please consider printing it on Friday afternoon if you plan to read it on Shabbat.
