The Aseret Hadibrot better known as the “Ten Commandments” appear not only in this week’s parasha, Yitro, but also in the Torah portion of Va’etchanan found in Deuteronomy. In analyzing the text of the Ten Commandments in both parashiyot, there are distinct differences in the text concerning two of the Commandments, namely, Shabbat and honoring parents.
