As our fellow Jews celebrate Shushan Purim in Jerusalem, and we prepare for Shabbat, enjoy another hamentashen, and crank up the festive celebratory Jewish music to mark the joyous occasion.
While the joyous holiday of Purim comes only once a year, we can learn much about the need to express joy and much gratitude throughout the year for the many gifts that God has bestowed upon us from the Zevach Shelamim, the Peace offering that was offered in the Temple in Jerusalem. Enjoy this enlightening and intriguing analysis entitled “Zevach Sh’lamim–Learning to Celebrate Life” from Rabbi Buchwald’s Torah Message that was offered on the Torah portion of Tzav. Out of respect for the Sabbath, please consider printing it on Friday afternoon if you plan to read it on Shabbat.
