Celebrate Shabbat HaGadol by dedicating time this Shabbat to reading through the Haggadah and preparing for the seder so that that you will find the actual seder experience that much more meaningful.
There’s also a significance to the name Shabbat HaGadol, the Great Shabbat, in that it focuses both on God’s presence in perhaps a distant way as the Creator of heaven and earth and also in a more intimate way as the Redeemer in Egypt.
To better appreciate the significance this duality that should be pondered on Shabbat HaGadol, read this illuminating analysis entitled: “Understanding Shabbat HaGadol” from Rabbi Ephraim Z. Buchwald’s Torah message for Tzav 5781-2021. Out of respect for Shabbat, please consider printing it on Friday afternoon if you plan to read it on Shabbat.
