If there’s any universal message the Chabad movement would want transmitted in memory of the Seventh Rebbe, it would be to perform mitzvot (good deeds) and connect Jewishly.

In the fourth chapter of Pirkei Avot, Ethics of the Fathers, we are taught, “Ben Azzai would say: Run to pursue a minor mitzvah, and flee from a transgression. For a mitzvah brings another mitzvah, and a transgression brings another transgression. For the reward of a mitzvah is a mitzvah, and the reward of transgression is transgression.” The Lubavitcher Rebbe certainly championed the incredible value of performing a mitzvah.

To learn more and appreciate the breadth of wisdom contained in the Torah, print out the fourth chapter of Ethics of the Fathers this afternoon before Shabbat and join thousands of fellow Jews around the globe who will be enjoying an uplifting experience and inspired discussions this Shabbat.
