As we prepare for the upcoming High Holidays, contemplate the words of the “Thirteen Attributes of God’s Mercy” and recognize the opportunity that we all have to come closer to God.

With the beginning of recitation of selichot this Motzai Shabbat, it behooves us to consider the sage advice found in the fifth chapter of Pirkei Avot, Ethics of the Fathers that may help us avoid sinning in the first place: “Whoever causes the multitudes to be righteous, sin will not occur on his account; And whoever causes the multitudes to sin, they do not give him the ability to repent.”

To learn more, print out both the fifth and sixth chapters of Ethics of the Fathers this afternoon before Shabbat and join thousands of fellow Jews around the globe who will be enjoying an uplifting experience and inspired discussions this Shabbat.
