On February 10, 2011, the National Jewish Outreach Program produced a webinar entitled Social Media for Synagogues, teaching synagogues and Jewish organizations the value of implementing comprehensive social media strategies.
It was presented by NJOP’s Social Media Coordinator Susanne Goldstone Rosenhouse. She explained what exactly social media is and how it can be a tool for you to not only reach your membership but also bring new people to your congregation. There was guidance in setting up a Facebook Page, understanding Twitter lingo, and other useful tips for putting your synagogue on the web and building your online audience. There were also several specific examples about utilizing social media sites to promote upcoming synagogue events, such as NJOP’s Shabbat Across America, next taking place on March 1, 2013.
