Supplemental Programming Materials
National Jewish Outreach Program is proud to present a package of programming materials guaranteed to stimulate participants of all ages! The programming is centered around the beginning of the Friday night Shabbat meal and focuses on the songs Shalom Aleichem and Aishet Chayil, both of which are sung before Kiddush, the blessing over the wine.
Shalom Aleichem Discussion Guide Sheds Lights on Angels
Tapping into the peoples’ search for spirituality, the Shalom Aleichem Discussion Guide focuses on the Jewish perspective on angels as understood from the Friday night song Shalom Aleichem (just who are those malachim anyhow?). The Discussion Guide also incorporates four Biblical texts in which “angels” play a significant role. The Shalom Aleichem Discussion Guide offers SAA/C Coordinators everything they need to lead a vibrant discussion.
Aishet Chayil Study Guide Celebrates Women of Valor
In yet another stunning example of NJOP’s creativity when it comes to educating Jews about Judaism, NJOP is presenting synagogues with the option of running an Aishet Chayil Study Program that gives participants an opportunity to learn about nineteen extraordinary women from the Bible! The Biblical Personality Cards included with the program are interesting, informative and designed with the adult beginner in mind.
