November , tens of thousands of Jewish adults gather in hundreds
of locations across North America to learn to read Hebrew
-- the language of our people! READ HEBREW AMERICA is the
ideal way to learn how to follow synagogue services, to be
more involved in your children's Jewish education, or simply
to enhance your own ties to Judaism. These five FREE hour
and a half lessons are available for beginners and intermediates. |
About
Read Hebrew America:
Level
One Hebrew Reading Crash Couse
In
only five 1-1/2 hour weekly sessions, participants learn to read
Hebrew, and receive a free copy of NJOP's Reishith Binah Hebrew
primer.
Level
Two Hebrew Reading Crash Course
A
follow-up course to the Hebrew Reading Crash Course, the Level II
class is offered to those who can recognize the Hebrew alphabet
and would like to improve their Hebrew reading and comprehension
skills in only 5 one and one half hour weekly sessions.
One
Day Review
A
few-hour long refresher course designed to help HRCC grads brush
up on their letter recognition skills prior to Level II.
Hebrew
Writing Crash Course
A
few-hour long course designed to help HRCC grads wishing to reinforce
their reading skills by learning how to write the Hebrew letters.
Locations
READ
HEBREW AMERICA/CANADA (RHA/C), NJOP's mega Hebrew literacy
campaign to win back the hearts of North American Jews, will take
place during the month of November ! RHA/C invites thousands
of Jewish adults into synagogues and Jewish centers throughout the
United States and Canada to foster Jewish identity and create awareness
about the importance of Hebrew literacy. NJOP expects to sponsor
1,000 classes with 12,000 participants! It's an audacious goal -
but attainable. We know you'll want to be a part of it!
The following is an outline of what NJOP will provide for you, your
instructor, your students and your community when you participate
in READ HEBREW AMERICA/CANADA:

A cross-continent, multi-media advertising campaign, including
internet, print and radio.

An award winning public relations campaign which generates publicity
for many participating locations.

Full color flyers, posters and reproducible flyers for your own
local publicity.
- A
"Hebrew Reading Crash Course" primer or Level II text
module for every student.
- All
instructors receive the latest NJOP "Teacher's Guide"
for their course, whether they are teaching Level I, Level II
(a new and improved teachers guide), the One Day Review (complete
with worksheets), or the Hebrew Writing Crash Course. Teachers
will also receive flash cards and a washable vinyl Aleph-Bet wall
chart.
